• Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the problem presented by 

outlining the prominent criteria and limitations within the Design Brief.

Criteria/Limitations	Description
Multimedia product	Must be between 2-5 minutes long
Multimedia product	Must be embedded into the yearbook/blog
Multimedia product	Must include at least 3 of the 5 possible multimedia data types.
Yearbook	Must contain at least 16 students
Copyright	All content that is not your own must be credited.
Time	Must be completed within the time frame
Software	Limited to the software we have available
Ability/Skill	Must be completed within your own ability

• Using brainstorming tools (such as a mind maps) to thoroughly analyse 
the design brief, highlighting potential solutions. It is recommended that 

you use spiderscribe or bubbl.us

• Construct a detailed table outlining the factors that will impact on the 

solution to the problem for further exploration, including;  i) Technical, ii) 

Operational iii) Financial and iv) Social & Ethical factors (See Chapter 1 of 

your Text book for overview of these 4 areas)

Technical	Skill Level Will the task be able to be used/acessed by anyone? Task Limitations Will the task work? Are there certain programs that don't work? Limitation of Hardware Will the task run on all computers?
Operational	Functionality Does the task do what it says it does? Usability Can an everyday user use the program with no difficulties Easy to manage Can the task be updated/managed easily. E.g. adding updated photos
Financial	Economical Is the affordable to create/manage? Limited by Budget/time Can you complete is by the due date and within "budget"? Security Is it secure from hacking/unauthorised usage? Limited by Programs Do you have access to all the programs/tools to complete the task? Free or Paid programs Can you get the programs for free or from the school?
Social/Ethical	Environmental Issues Does it need to be printer/distributed in hard copy? Non-biased Will all sections of it contain non-biased/valid information Privacy of Information Will all data in the task be authorised? Appropriate Information Will the information be appropriate to the task? Security Will the information be secure? Plagiarism/Copyright Will all information be your own or have reference to it's rightful owner?
